PET HT 1.00 resin

The different PET grades with high melt strength, identified in most cases as Rex, have been designed by Novapet taking into account specific requirements both in terms of melt strength and crystallization speed. This allows undertaking projects such as extrusion-blowing of hollow bodies with a capacity greater than 2lt and with an integral handle, such as the direct and continuous extrusion of tubes, profiles or monofilament, as well as the manufacture of crystallized bars/plates for subsequent machining with excellent durability and mechanical properties. Additionally, all of these PET grades are 100% recyclable into the existing rPET stream. PET is increasingly used to replace other materials in these applications. It was unthinkable with conventional bottle grade resin, but now feasible with Novapet’s ability to functionalize the resins. Before discarding PET for an application, we encourage you to jointly study the project to find a technically and commercially viable PET-based solution.

Novapet has developed a large family of PET resins with high resistance to melting in order to be used in different applications, which include extrusion-blowing of hollow containers, even with an integrated handle, as well as the direct extrusion of monofilaments, pipes, profiles, bars or plaques.

Within the packaging, they are mainly used in cosmetics and toiletries, also in food. Therefore, the more technical applications are very diverse.

These resins, mostly identified as Rex, constitute a functional, sustainable and 100% recyclable alternative in the rPET stream compared to other plastic materials (PC, PETG, POM, …), contributing in this way to the objectives of sustainability and circularity.
